Installment 16

24 June 2020

The Starry Night Reed-Frog is probably my favorite among Madagascar's hundreds of endemic amphibians.

We're surging towards 2000 cases. But at the some time, few people seem to take this virus seriously. Even in normal times, hospitals are widely regarded as places where people "go to die", and are now being avoided even more scrupulously, as there is fear of testing positive, being quarantined, and then forced to pay for your own expenses. Deaths are up to 16. A drop in the global bucket. But amazing how quickly we have moved on from our first death being a significant psychological barrier.
