It's Mad. It's Blue. It's the Madagascar Blue Vanga. Read on if you want to hear a bit about COVID in the 8th Continent (installment 18). On my last excursion into town, I was left with a heartening impression that Madagascar is learning to live with this virus. Most people were wearing masks, and social distancing was observed pretty carefully at the places where I went. This is a big change from just a couple weeks ago, when the pandemic was treated as a big joke here. With 2400 cases, the virus is taking off quickly. So it's a good time to start taking it seriously.
