Installment 8

15 April 2020

Torotoroko Scops-Owl, one of several endemic owls in the 8th Continent.

Calm before the storm? There is a strange feeling here. It's a bit like those action movies where someone says "it's quiet... too quiet". The official number of cases has slowly increased arithmetically to just over 100. Has this thing been contained by an effective lock-down, or slowed by factors that are still poorly understood, perhaps hot weather, a very young population, or the ubiquity of BCG vaccination? It will be hard for the government to sell a continued lockdown to its impoverished population. But will opening up simply unleash the beast? Strange times with a vastly uncertain future.
